Shell is the program which interpret the command given by the users.Command can either be type through keyboard or passed by script.
Unix shell is divided into 4 types namely:-
a)Bourne Shell
b)C Shell
c)Korn Shell
d)Bash Shell
a)Bourne Shell:-Bourne Shell is the shell which was developed by Dr. Steven Bourne at AT&T lab(USA).Bourne Shell is the oldest shell type among all the shell that I have mentioned below.
Key features of Bourne Shell:-
1)It can execute commands in the background.
2)Redirects inputs and outputs.
3)It uses wild cards.
b)C Shell:-C Shell is the shell developed was by Bill Joy at University of California. C shell is created after Bourne Shell.
Key features of C Shell:-

3)Integer Arithmetic.
4)Abbreviation of commands.
c)Korn Shell:-Korn Shell is the shell which was developed by David Korn at AT&T lab.Korn Shell is rich in many features.
