Conversion Process and its Methods


Conversion is a method which replace hardware,software etc. database into new database or in simple words Conversion is a process which convert the old system to new system for update technology,increasing capabilities of system etc.

Method/type of Conversion:-

1)Parallel Conversion:-Parallel conversion is the most secure conversion of all time.Both new and old system work at same time in parallel.

Advantages and disadvantages of parallel conversion:-

a)Not consumed time.

b)It guarantied of flow of data.

c)It is very reliable.

d)This technique is very costly because both system(old and new)working at same time.

2)Direct Conversion:-Direct Conversion is the conversion technique in which old system is directly terminated into the new system so this technique is very risky.

3)Phased Conversion or phase In conversion:-Phased Conversion or phase-In-conversion is the method of the conversion in which system is converted into the phases(phases by phases or function by function).

4)Pilot Approach Conversion:-Pilot conversion is a conversion method in which more than 1 system are working at same time.

System Maintenance


System Maintenance methodology is the longest phase of SDLC(System Development Life Cycle)model.This phase come after the evaluation stage.This phase maintain the whole system process.

Type of System Maintenance:-

1)Corrective Maintenance:-It is used to correct error in newly built system.

2)Adoptive Maintenance:-It is used to upgrade this system as per the requirement of organisation,customer etc.

3)Perfective Maintenance:-It is used to improve the efficiency of computer.

4)Schedule Maintenance:-It is used to detect faults and remove it.

5)Rescue Maintenance:-It recover system in small period of time.

System Evaluation


System Evaluation methodology is one of the most important phase in SDLC(System Development Life Cycle)model.This is a part of Implementation phase.It is also used in ERP.In this method we evaluate the whole system and checks its capability like:-


1)System is easy to operate?

2)How to further improve the system.

3)Checks whether system is created well in time.

4)Checks whether system is created at predefined cost.

5)Is our system is qualitative.

6)Checks whether system is created in predefined resources.

System Testing is one of the most important phase in  SDLC(System Development Life Cycle)model.This method/phase is come after System design.It check whole system and tested frequently.Testing verifies the whole system.

The main goal of system testing is to test system performance.

1)Recovery Testing:-It verify the recovery of the system(planning of recovery).

2)Security Testing:-Tested security against hackers,malicious code etc.

3)Stress Testing:-Test the system at abnormal conditions.

5)Reliability Testing:-It checks is our system is reliable or not.

6)Functional Testing:-It verify the functional feature of the system software.

7)Usability Testing:-Check is our system is user friendly or not.

8)Compatibility Testing:-It check is our system is compatible or not.

System Analysis


System Analysis is come after the phase/step of Preliminary investigation in SDLC(System Development Life Cycle)model.In this phase analyst analysis the whole system requirements.He/She conduct detailed investigation(by using interviews,questionnaire,observation etc.),analysis the processed(analysis the inputs,outputs,resource,control etc.) and existing system(analysis the inputs,outputs,database,method etc.).

System analysis is done by variety of peoples including system analyst,customer and understand the whole system in terms of performance,productivity etc.

Preliminary Investigation


Preliminary Investigation is the first phase/step of SDLC(System Development Life Cycle).Preliminary investigation is done by system analyst.System analyst is the person who are responsible for the development of the organisation.Initial investigation is one of the most tough task for system analyst.In this investigation following problem and its solutions are defined:-

Feasibility Study is used to determine/identify the chances of improvement of processed and existing system.This is one of the most important phase/methodology/step of SDLC(System Development Life Cycle).It studied whether to cancel system or proceed with that system/software.
